OUR PROGRAMS AND EVENTS
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING: Achievement indicators of the organization are examined during the Annual General Meeting (AGM). This Annual Event gives stakeholders the opportunity to come together to review progress made in the execution of various Projects and Programs of the organization. It is a period of Stock taking, Planning and Projecting Plan of Action (P-As) that is pursued at various Levels. Various organs and Unit Heads of the Initiative are held accountable to the organization and they use the Platform of the AGM to convince the stakeholder of their genuine commitment to the vision of the initiative at all levels of activities. Approvals for Programs and Projects are endorsed at this crucial period. It is usually held in December of every year and where for unforeseen reason, (s), the AGM could not hold as scheduled, it is hosted in January at the beginning of the new year, Fund Raising Dinners, Award nights and Annual/commemorative Days and events are what usually feature during this Annual Event apart from reports and Projection of activities.
Ø ANNUAL YOUTH CAMP: April, 2005. Global Health Development and Peace Initiative (GlOHEDEP.) initiate and host Annual Youth Camp event and usually it is hosted in any selected area and approved by stakeholders of the organization. This event is a learning, exchange and induction period of active days for the young people. The first of this series of camps was hosted in the village of Didango-Lau, Taraba State-Nigeria on the 18th – 23rd of April, 2005. The camp period afforded the initiative to learn with the youth’s specific life changing events and issues .We achieve this by
Ø Broadening with the reach and needs pf the youth people taking into consideration different context and forces that influenced them
Ø Empowering the young people to act as channel of change, nurture a collective co-operative spirit that is sustained even after the camp.
Ø Strengthen the capacity of the youth to identify what they best can do to cause an effective change in their community using projects and ideas generated during the Camp Period.
Ø Improve young people commitment to genuine and lasting community value.
“Youth Camp 2006” is proposed to be held at the Mambilla Plateau in Taraba State Nigeria. The Mambilla Plateau being one and different climate in Nigeria is therefore a good period for youths both in school and out of school to meet together to share their expenses
EDUCATION AND EXCHANGE PROGRAMS
This Program is conceived to provide a means of which the initiative supports educational support and development for which the young people develop skill building to serve in other communities other than their own communities. The Programs is designed to get to create a Platform to discover to talented young people through Annual Essay contest Process, and such young people that are successful and selected will be provided a space in our Exchange Study tours depending on Funding and to the objectives of the Program. It is earmarked to be held between August- September of every year having had such Essay Competition reviewed and adopted during the AGM’s Meeting.
ADVOCACY, ANNUAL PEACE LECTURES AND TRAININGS
These events are held in the months of May, June, July, October and November of every year. This are the active period for which the initiatives implements its broad Programs on Health Development Issues/HIV/AIDS, Peace and Conflict transformation, Environmental Sustenance, Youth development and Research and Development.
ü Partnership Exchange. We commit ourselves to Partnership because we believe in sharing of experiences and more fundamentally because any vision left un-shared is a vision not achievable. Partnership and exchanges afford us the opportunity to learn from other peoples perspectives, How their projects and Programs works and how it could be replicated to serve as platforms for which we can advocate our Programs to global audience that can respond to our reeds and specific issues in the Human Development activity.
ü The New Digital and Economic opportunities. We accept Expert’s volunteers, Policy makers and Partners in this Program and they are thus placed on our project during this period.
